Hi  I've just spent a week on the costa looking at areas to purchase a bolthole and live the dream.  I have been shown the area of La finca and i have to say i am extremely impressed.  I was hoping that i could get some information regarding thinks to do and also the practicalities of staying in the area without a car.

Is there a decent bus or taxi service to enable getting around to the different surrounding areas.

Mark

Hi mark

We have just recently reserved a property on la finca, it was our third visit there viewing properties and we love it, hopefully picking up the keys by the end of the year.  I'm not sure about bus services however the commercial centre has a few bars and restaurants, all very good and a small supermarket for bits and pieces, algorfa village is about a 30 min walk, there is a lovely walk from the back of la finca to the village, all pavement along the orange groves, in the village you have few nice restaurants, post office bank etc....  I have downloaded the Victor taxi app for la finca, excellent service, you can even get a quote via the app and book a taxi from it, we was charged €10 euros to go to Los montesinos, Hope this helps and good luck with your search.

Rent a place first for minimum of several weeks.  I would recommend renting for a month or so in the low season (Winter Time) prior to buying anywhere in Spain.

hi

the row of the commercial shops is the road to walk down into algorfa past the orange groves downhill. quiet road.

we have been to to this region for approx 10 years and have just secured a property.  Ciudad Quesada is nice and you get chatting to people over a coffee.  If you like shopping malls there is Los Habaneras not to far away or La Zenia.

Guardamar beach is nice and we usually go to La Marina beach or you could go to Santa pole and have a boat ride.........I could go on and on sorry but a car us recommended

hope this helps

We bought four years ago on la finca - on our first visit and not having looked anywhere else. It was a huge and scary step but one that we have never regretted.

Lots to see and do but would highly recommend a car.

Good luck - and enjoy
