Hi all

i will be travelling overland to la florida with my pet dog [ Bobby ] in the next couple of weeks with a van full of furniture. Hopefully using the euro star channel tunnel crossing. I have the relevant pet passport in place with all up to date injections.

Any advice about the journey or any problems i might encounter would be greatly appreciated

I will be staying for quite some time but might need to return home on the odd occasion. can anyone recommend  reputable kennels for short term [ 1 or 2 weeks] dog boarding in the la florida or playa flamenca area

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

       Regards Brian

Hi I do it all the time I try and use Brittany ferry dog friendly cabins if I can’t get booked I use Euro tunnel take plenty of wee stops France can be expensive tolls ect but in Spain I can do from Bilbao to alacanti toll free buy your self a 12v plug in kettle plastic cups all in one coffee my kettle takes about 45 to 50 mins to boil so I know it’s time for a wee stop if it’s summer time the picnic areas are ok if not I stick to the service stations.

Hi Brian

We have recently travelled down to Alicante via euro tunnel with our dog.

The dog passport wasn’t needed at Folkestone, but believe it’s more for when you travel back.

We planned the route stopping every 2.5 hours. We purchased a Tag for the toll roads in France which made it very easy and no stopping to pay the tolls.

We had an overnight stop in Tours, and another in Guerthary, both with pet friendly hotels, which I can recommend if you need.

The last leg we did it one go travelling via Zaragossa, Valencia then on to Alicante.

I’m sure there are many different routes, but this suited our needs.

It was a great trip, we just told ourselves that it wasn’t a race, and to enjoy the trip.

Please message me if you would like the route and hotels that we used

Regards

John Archer
