Getting your NIE

TIAI need to get my NIE.. can you just turn up to playa flamenca police station and if so what do I need to take with me?

There shouldn't be a problem with an NIE, but it's not Playa Flamenca police office - it's the office of the national police in Playa Flamenca town hall.

You'll have to ask them if an appointment is necessary. 

For what's required, just look at my guide - Ray gave the link for it above.

If you're now resident here, you can just apply for residency, and an NIE number will be allocated as part of that process.

Thanks I’ve been and collected paperwork.. need to book appt on line .. and you do need a photo.. cos I’m not resident she said it’s just as easy to do at the embassy in London 👍

I said in my guide:

If you live anywhere near the consulates in London or Edinburgh, then this is far and away the easiest way of doing it.
