A licensed and legal taxi should be around 50 Euros, there are unlicensed illegal operators that you could use if you fancy taking your life in your hands travelling with illegal drivers who are uninsured to carry paying passengers. Additionally, the local Police currently are clamping down on these cowboys so both the driver and passengers could face large on the spot fines if stopped.

Hi John

Thanks for the information the do the licensed taxi have the sign on top as they do in England.

When I was over in June we used a company through the internet and they charged 127 euro return so I was wondering if this was the normal price.

thanks again

The legal taxis are easily recognisable as in the U.K., they have signs, meters and the drivers license will be visible in the taxi. They have regulated prices so they cannot rip you off. The unlicensed ones are booked by telephone or email with their details passed on by word of mouth, have no visible signs or licenses as they will be hiding what they are doing, they usually charge per person with a minimum charge in case they don't fill the car or van with passengers. Weigh the minimal saving that you might make with the cowboys against the peace of mind that you will have, for the responsibility of the safety of your family or friends, when using a legal taxi and your decision is easy.
