Hi Everyone

Sun lawyers, who conducted my property purchase in La Florida, suggest i obtain a form, S1. and complete it because of the upcoming Brexit. Has anyone completed this form or know anything of it?

Also PADRON what would be the best way, and advantages, to go about this?

       Thanks

Just to add to the excellent information Kimmy has given, being on the padron also enables you to vote in the local and EU elections.

This isn't very important for someone like myself who lives in a rural area where the majority of residents are Spanish, but for anyone who lives on what I call the coastal strip with a high proportion of foreign residents, it can potentially be significant. Taken to the extreme, it means that foreign residents could elect the council of their choice.

Hi Jim

 Food for thought!

 Thanks again Jim

Hi Kimmy

  latest update on formS1

the number i rang off the link you gave me is 0191 218 1999

I spoke to a really helpful person

After passing a number of security questions to prove who i am they are posting form S1 out to my Spanish address

with accompanying notes

The important things i have learned so far, are:

make, and keep safe, a copy of the form

if you need hospital treatment in the UK, always give your Spanish address

if you give a UK address, this cancels your right to Spanish treatment on a reciprocal basis

I will give further updates as and when they happen

Hope this is of some help

          Kind regards Brian
