Lainmaculada bus
Hi, I noticed an lainmaculada bus in La Marina Village ( not Urbanization). I want to go to Elche. Does anyone know if I can get on this bus in La Marina Village... it says guardamar:elche on the front. Thanks?

Hi,
I caught the bus to Elche from La Marina Urb a few days ago and it does stop in La Marina Village on the main drag. I wrote the following times down from the board in the urb. as follows:
To Elche 0725 1245 1535 1815 -stay on the bus until it gets to the bus station which is the journeys end. Walk out of the main entrance, turn left and walk for about 5 minutes and you come to the park (it's a bit posher than a park). Walk into the park and turn left. After a few minutes, you come out next to Tourist Information who are very helpful and will give you a map and directions if you need them.
To La Marina from Elche 0900 1330 2000
Journey takes about 30 minutes.
These are just weekdays. The cost from the Urb. was 2.00 Euros per person one way. We got the 1245 to Elche but the return bus at 2000 was too late for us. We got a hackney from the taxi stand (shown on the map). It was 25 euros to the Urb so I'd guess 20 euros to the Village.
I can recommend 'LaTastero' tapas bar which is across the road from the tourist info not far from the Basillica (opposite Ale Hop shop) . We went on Wednesday and all tapas are 1 euro on Wednesdays - fabulous value. Unfortunately on this occasion there were only two of us. If there are four of you there is an incredible deal where you get a special deal on tapas. You pay for your first round of drinks and then drinks are free for as long as you are eating. A few months ago there were four of us and we stayed for over two hours and the price was ridiculously cheap.
Enjoy!!

Brilliant thank you so much .. perhaps you could get a job in tourist information 😊thanks again!👍
You're welcome Katie.I wouldn't want a job in Tourist Information, especially on the Urb. as I'd soon get fed up of people like me complaining about the bus service to Alicante!! One bus per day, leaving at 1025 and coming back around 2pm. What makes it worse is that it's a mini bus (maybe a 14 seater) and by the time it gets to the Urb. it's full or only has one or two seats left. I can't get my head around it. People visiting the area and not having a car (or residents who don't have transport) just can't get to Alicante, as far as I can work out. This was the situation last week and also in October and I suspect the situation will pertain until May/June time when the bus gets bigger and there are 3 a day. But, for about 6 months of the year, you're snookered. Don't get me started on the lack of taxis in the area either. As I understand it, there are only three licensed taxis on the Urb and even less in La Marina village. Rant ends!!
Fair play... rant taken on board! Still not got to Elche... I’m here for the long haul so will get there eventually. At least I know where to come if I’m stuck for info ! Cheers 👍
