Buy a policy in the UK. Google car hire excess insurance 

Refuse their insurance when you pick the car up

Leave a deposit on you card  usually 1200e 

Go over the car with a fine tooth comb to make they have identified all the damage

Be careful where you park it at the supermarket etc

Fill it up when you get near the airport on return 

Used Firefly at Alicante airport for the past 2 years, no problems. Used Goldcar once, never again!

Yan Firefly us one that comes up on Ryanair but been warned not to book via Ryanair. Did you book direct with firefly?

Firefly or Goldcar. As long as you follow the rules you should be fine. I hire from Goldcar probably 6 times per year.

I’ve always used Rentalcar to book. 

Our friend have just hired with Firefly.€102 for 12 days. Skoda Fabia.

Lara Cars in La Marina and Alicante Airport, they meet you at arrivals, no waiting. The price they give you is all inclusive, no need for extra insurance, and you don't leave a deposit.

We always use Firefly and book the car online, we sort out insurance when we get there and always take the best. Do no use Ryanair and definitely do not use Ryanair's insurance.  

Last time it cost us 235 euros including insurance, full-to-full petrol and two drivers. This was for 21 days.   We've never had any problems with them. 

PJ’s car hire are very good. They pick you up at the airport and leave the hire car outside the villa. You pay them on arrival. They then collect you from the villa and take you back to the airport. Susan 🙂
