I am considering traveling by train from London to Alacanti whilst I set up home with the need to transport an expensive amount of luggage.

Has anybody else traveled this way that might offer advice please?

What happens if a train is delayed, will your tickets still be valid if you miss your next connection?

How much luggage can you take and can a bring a pushbike?

Alternatively, if anybody is traveling down beginning of September with a half empty van, that would be handy!

Travelling with huge luggage will give you hard times when having to change trains (or even stations) in Paris and Barcelona. Usual procedure for lost connex is restamping your ticket for an alternative train. I wold enquire at the travel office at St. Pancrass for details.

If you are 60 and aover, the Spanish Railway offers substantial discounts (+/- 40%) provided you buy a "Tarjeta Dorada" at any rail station in Spain for 6,- producing ID and proof of age.

I am indeed over 60, how can I get this discount whilst still in England?, or should I just buy my own tickets as I go rather than getting the whole lot from an online booking agency?

Get a quote from UPS - they brought my electric bike and we're very reasonable and on time. LeoMac7
