Hi,

Having been let down by easyJet due to them cancelling four flight bookings, I had even paid to have my flight brought forward as I had an important hospital appointment.

I have been in contact with the consulate but advised to check their website.

despite news of repatriation flights from Spain I cannot find any information or ways to register for same.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks John.

I don’t think there will be any repatriation flights while commercial flights are operating. You should be able to get back to UK via Barcelona or Brussels In theory you should be able to claim the difference in fare from EasyJet good luck!

Do not believe what Dominic Raab or anyone else is telling you re Repatriation Flights. They simply do not exist and they have repatriated nobody at all. I contacted the Consulate as told to to register for these flights. Here is what they replied -

"Hi Nikki. We are sorry to hear about your situation and understand your frustration around multiple flight cancellations. We are suggesting to individuals in Alicante to look at flights from Barcelona or Madrid. There are several trains a day to both cities from Alicante and from there flights are direct to UK. We would suggest you check Vueling, Iberia and British Airways for flight availability over the next few days. Do you have somewhere to stay in Alicante for the time being?

I'm afraid most flights are to London and you would have to arrange ongoing travel from there. We understand this is a complicated journey for some and where possible, if you have long term accommodation, it may be better for you to stay where you are for the time being."

So now you know the truth

Hi Nikki ,

Very interesting reply, I find it very frustrating that we appear to have been abandoned. My wife and I require to return to Belfast mainly as I had a hospital appointment to commence treatments for skin cancer . At 69 I would not be happy having to take an extended journey leaving me open to further health issues . Although not ideal I feel safer staying here in Spain where we all know the boundaries

Many thanks for your help

John.

I am only too happy to put you in the picture. At least now you know. I hope others in the same situation read this also. We have, indeed, been abandoned to our own devices by our Government. Not at all surprising.
