After many years, never saw them, & then they appeared. A friend visited and liked sugar, (spilled a grain or two)...so did the little ants. They seemed to enter via plug sockets ( & any other ways!) I treated & controlled them with anti-spray insecticide). They left for other situation's who used more sugar! I think...... V

Bleach will kill those it hits, but it's transient. Much better to spray all likely entry points with Oro or equivalent. That will dry, and anything that crawls over it for several weeks will be killed.

Try a can of cheap fly spray from Mercadona. They die instantly.

Or any fly spray.

That's a cure, but it's not prevention, and you need to be there to do it. Incidentally, I also prefer the Mercadona flyspray that's free of smellies.

A very nice old local lady once told me, to leave a few granules of simple washing powder near the ant´s entry. They will take them back & eradicate the nest.

True Jim

I don't get many at all and when I do, it's only the kitchen every now and then.

Agree with Nicola, strong white vinegar sprayed across all entry points- keeps them away. Spray 3 times a day. Also place traps on top of kitchen units.
