we have a small pool 6 x 3. We would like to heat it so we can swim longer but but we don't want a cover. Has anyone got a heated pool without a cover? Susan (La Marina Urb)

Hi it is really not worth heating a pool without a cover as the main heat loss is from the surface the best type of cover would be a bubble cover on a role so you can wind it up probably around 600 euros depending on the size of the pool if you don't have a cover you loose to much heat on a night time and it will cost a lot!.

Hi

You can get a system with solar panels but it is expensive but may be worth it.

Do you have any idea how much the heater costs run? Thanks for your help. Is your pool bigger than ours?

We have had a quote for a heater and also for the pool cover which lays on the water.  I just wondered if someone had a heater with no cover.  I can swim in the pool in the pool towards the end of October (weather dependent)  I just didn't want to have to take the cover off every time I wanted a swim.  Unless I can just put the cover on at night and leave it off all day.

Hi Yes you can leave of in the day as it is night you really need it not every time you get in and out but if you are going out and know you won't be using it you will save money if you take the time to put it on.

Hi, we are about to have a pool heater put in, and a liquid cover. A relatively new thing, called HeatSavr. It’s a liquid which is dispensed and puts a film across the pool. I was a bit Sceptical intitially but have since heard some hotels are having them fitted. Our pool is kidney shaped and difficult to cover, and looks horrid. Hope this helps.
