Hi,

Have you tried to ask K9 animal rescue or Pets in Spain if they know who might be able to help you? Also it would be a good idea to contact your ayuntamiento ( town hall) if these are feral and not house cats you're feeding as they may have a group like CES in Torrevieja that feed and do a trap, neuter and release on the ferals.

Good luck and hope you find some help.

At my place in France, I fed a cat. it became pregnant and suddenly I am feeding it and four kittens. Not long afterwards, they were all adults and bred with each other (having no morals) and I had twenty cats, all with bottomless appetites.

I was away for over two months and fortunately they had all gone by time I got back.

You have to get cats "fixed" or that happens.

As said, contact an animal charity as the cats will continue to breed with each other and you will have even more cats to feed.

By putting out food, you are probably attracting all the feral cats in the area.

Unfortunately, a cat colony can grow and grow and in Dave's place, I would stop putting any food out for a week and see if they go elsewhere.

It will happen anyway if he has run out of money. I found when I was feeding cats, I was spending more on cat food than on myself when I went shopping.

There is a lady trying to organise help for feral cats in La Marina area by getting them spayed. She is on Facebook her name is Lorrain Johnson you could try and contact her and she may be able to help.

Dave, I saw this in a British newspaper and thought of you:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-11474249/Factory-worker-20-EIGHT-pets-survives-Pot-Noodles-forced-shower-gym.html

People in Britain are being urged not to abandon their pets this coming winter because of the financial squeeze.
