Does anyone know how often dogs need tapeworm treatment for travel purposes? Our dog had her treatment by the vet around 3 months ago (to return to UK) now we are due to travel by ferry to France then Spain, do I need another tapeworm treatment? Thanks in advance, Ive tried Brittany Ferries but not getting very far with them!☺

As far as I’m aware your pet needs the tapeworm tablet before you return to the UK, this needs to be within 72 hours, we travel regularly with our dog and have to have the tablet before we travel back each time.

It's travelling back to Spain im trying to find out about, she had the tapeworm treat ment when we left Spain roughly 10 weeks ago, but I'm not sure if she needs another one before we leave UK for Spain😕

We arrived last week and didn’t need the tapeworm tablet to get our dog into Spain it’s just the other way round.

Hi again before Brexit there was no need for the worming returning to Spain . But there are probably changes since .

No change since Brexit, no need for tablet to enter Spain, only needed when entering UK

Can I just check a point with you please. I am bringing our dogs out in September for the first time.
You mention that the tapeworm treatment needs to be within 72 hours. Are you certain of this?
I am hoping that it is in fact 120 hours??

According to the vet I use in Spain it is 72 hours, probably best to check.
