Cancelling direct debits

Hello, has anyone cancelled their direct debits for utility bills directly through the bank or is it the company that has to do it? 😁

Just advise thebank not to honor direct debits from xxxx and that's it.
Looked at my online banking ( Sabadell) and in the drop down menu for direct debits there is the option to block payments of the direct debits.

You do that yourself in the bank. Go in to your bank and tell them you want to cancel Direct Debits and they will print off the list of those you have, ask you to pick the ones you want cancelled and just ask you to sign confirm your request. Only takes a few minutes. But, do inform the companies that you have cancelled them in case they inadvertently apply for payments via your account
