Hi There, you can download xvpn for free on your firestick or you can download on your phone then sync your phone to your network then send it to your firestick and install it, works ok as i did it last year when i visited spain.Paul.

Xvpn hides your ip address as connects to a server so you can mask your ip address so no one sees it af all then you can use bbc iplayer, itv hub ect at no extra cost..

I use IPVanish which worked perfectly well disguising my IP address whilst holidaying in Spain on my firestick and IPad, but unfortunately the BBC seems to have software which I assume now recognises this disguise and stops me watching IPlayer. ITV hub works perfectly well. If anybody out there can help me get over this problem I’d be very grateful. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong with my setup.....I am an oldie.......or the BBC is getting better at recognising IP address detection. I have sat free tv in Spain, but IPlayer doesn’t work on that format.

Thanks very much Pete. I’ll have a look into your suggested solution using a Smart DNS proxy system.

IPVanish VPN was rated the best app on many of the review sites I investigated before choosing this system and is not some cheap/free app and supposedly re-routes your IP address to the areas of the world you require....in my case the UK, but still the BBC seems to recognise the deceit or seems to.

Has anybody else found this to be a problem and how have they managed, if they have, to resolve this. Many thanks for any information you have which would help me with my problem as this is costing me good money 💰 and not allowing me to watch BBC iPlayer whilst in Spain?

Look forward to hearing from any other experts out there who uses a VPN system which works in Spain?

For your information it works very well, i have never had an issue with it and does the job very well, it hides your ip address so cannot be traced at all, if you want to pay more fool you, its free and does the job.

I apologise for jumping onto this thread but I,m hoping someone could answer a query. If my UK phone provider stops free roaming after Brexit, could I use a vpn to hide my roaming to allow data use looking like I was in UK.? I,m not really looking for tv purposes just a way of using data as though I was in UK without changing phone provider.

Pauline.
