Hi All.

We will be arriving in La Marina end of this Month to take up residency and need some advice.

First is there any local people available who can advise on entertainment and office set up?

we need 2 smart t vs setting up with all internet access whats app you tube netflix etc. also uk tv and film channels.

we already have a subscription for tv and internet with vega fibre but are looking for something more comprehensive now that we will be living here.

Also  we want to get Spanish sim cards for our mobiles  ( Best place for that please)

Thanks All

Steve.

Regarding mobile phones, I would recommend Lobster. Check out their website.

Not sure if they are British owned but all customer facing personnel are British or are fluent English speakers. Their packages are very good value. My monthly fee is €12.99 for unlimited calls and texts within Spain, to and from EU and UK, plus a good data allowance. If travelling in those countries, your calls and texts package is carried over, and you get an adequate data allowance.

I'd seconf the Lobster point - one thing you will likely find is that if you do online shopping (or just other stuff), vendors will want a Spanish mobile number.

So even if you have a UK number, and no issue with the data allowance in the EU, the computer will say no to when you try and input it.

This goes back probably a decade but Leroy Merlin used to not accept non-Spanish numbers when online ordering and plenty of couriers will not ring a non-Spanish mobile number when out for delivery etc.

If your phone has dual sim functionality, it can function as both your Spanish number and UK number so need to end up carrying two phones!

Regarding TV etc - presumably you are currently using some form of VPN when over from the UK to allow watching of the various online apps you mention. That will presumably need to continue. Personally, I binned off using the apps and have succumbed to a "dodgy" firestick which has access to live TY but also series and movie databases covering anything I want.

Hi

For 12 years we used satellite TV, but that's rapidly becoming obsolete so I've finally switched to a firestick with Surfshark VPN. I then installed an iptv, but most people simply get the firestick from the bloke in the pub with iptv already installed.

The added advantage is that you can take the firestick on holiday with you.

Cheers

Steve

If it’s just so you have a Spanish mobile number and not to use outwith the EU then you won’t get much cheaper than Simyo:

Start at 5€\month.

Firestick ( NOT the latest select model ) 4k max stick and an iptv subscription.

So simple does all the things you want to see and possibky purchase a vpn subscription via the firestick to watch any free view catch ups I player itv x c4 c5 etc.

Its easy ..do it yourself..iptv sub 40 to 60 pounds a year..vpn for 2 years ..loads of deals about 30 quid .
