The taxi service is great if you like paying 15 euros to travel less than 3km an expensive trip never use them again.

Thanks David

That does sound expensive I'll have to shop around and find some good prices

Cheers Adele

Hi Adele66, there is a company called Lara cars at the top of the Urb, there prices don't seem to bad, but whatever you do avoid DoyouSpain and Dickmanns car rentals, unless you take out dickmanns insurance, they swipe your credit card and hold on to the money for ages, I am presently trying to g...

We have a villa inLa Marina that we've been visiting three times a year for the last few years and we hire a car through doyouspain online using Firefy and have always had excellent services - cheap good quality cars clean and pick up on arrival at the airport car park . Would recommend

Hi Lesala2015, my gripe with Doyouspain and Dickmanns, is that apart from Dickmanns actually taking the deposit and holding on to it for several weeks or more, DoyouSpain knew that they were doing this, but still refer customers to them. I appreciate that DoyouSpain use other companies and people have not had problems with them, but I think it is bang out of order for a company to refer its clients to a dodgy car rental company, especially when there are hundreds possibly thousands of complaints of this nature against them. Check out talk Quesada forum, it gives links on this topic, and it is not just the brits they are doing it to, there is also a topic on a paper called the olive branch that also refers to these dealings. this is the first company in 15 years of hiring cars in Spain that has actually taken the holding deposit.  Just to let everybody know, I received my deposit back on Friday 10 February, less £75, when I called them I was informed that this was Spanish tax.  As I hadn't actually purchased anything, I cant see why I am paying tax, but I cant be arsed fighting them over this as it has probably cost me more in telephone calls to date.

Hello everyone

We bought a villa on La Marina Urb. last July but haven't managed to get back over for one reason or another, so we're slightly lacking in knowledge! Hopefully we'll be over at the end of February so any information will be gratefully appreciated

Are there any local bus services, are they regular and reliable too ?

Are the local taxis easily accessible and also reasonably priced ?

Also is there a local car hire company /individual ?

Thanks for any help

Adele

Local Bus service is very poor, taxis are reasonable, plenty pirate taxis cheaper still, bus service from the urb to elche and Alicante daily,

Hope this helps
