My post was  a question directed at the OP and was not directed at you.

England, Wales, Scot and NI all have different entry requirements, even though the same passenger locator form is completed.

Not all the countries are changing the rules from 4th October  and rather then guess where the OP is returning to, I would prefer  to have all the information to hand to give a correct answer. Depending on where they are travelling to, they may still need to take a pre departure test.

So no it’s not about being a keyboard warrior it’s about finding out the facts before attempting to answer the question.

Hi I have just returned from Alicante (today 6th october) had to pay £43 for a covid test to re-enter then obtain a QR code before easy jet ground staff would let me check in (it was an absolute nightmare!!!)  although I have had both jabs is this correct?   also found the easyjet staff at alicante very unhelpful!!  thanks MAUREEN

No you did not need a pre departure test here in Spain.

You needed to purchase a PCR  test to be taken on or before Day 2 of you arriving back in the U.K.. So if you landed back in the U.K. before midnight on the 6th October then Day 2 is Friday 8th.

Once you’d booked your Day 2 the booking reference for that order is entered on the passenger locator form. That’s the test requirement you needed to complete the form to obtain the QR code.

So did they send you to the pre departure  testing centre  in the airport.

Hi Lynn,  . the easyjet staff were very unhelpfull ! did not send me to a pre departure test centre at Alicante airport- consequently I had to pay £43 to a testing centre, still waiting for the test to arrive it is now 10.35 on the 8th october, many thanks

I thought you’d meant  you’d had to have a pre departure test performed at the airport.  Did you not book your day 2 PCR in advance then? I’m confused again because you needed to book that test as previously advised, as the booking reference number is required for your locator form.  So did you not have either the test booked or the form completed when you arrived at the airport for your journey back to the U.K.

I am totally confused !

I have to return to the UK on Tuesday 19th. I AM NOT VACCINATED and I have a EU passport.

I have paid for the day 2 PCR test to be done in UK, so I have the reference number to quote on the uk Gov form.

BUT .....do I also need to take a PCR test in Spain 3 days before I board the British Airways flight ?

Any suggestions to where I should go in Guardamar/Torrevieja to have it done and not pay an eye and a leg for it ? (£43 in UK).

I thought I had it sorted it all our before leaving London, instead.    My heartbeats are accelerating by the minute .....

Thank you for any help you might give

Please see the regulations on the link below.

As you are not vaccinated you are required to to take a fit to fly test before leaving Spain. It is recommended that this is a PCR test, but the cheaper antigen test is acceptable.

Once back in the U.K. you need to take a Day 2 and Day 8 test, both have to be prebooked for the reference number to go onto your passenger locator form. You also have to quarantine for 10 days.

If returning to England you can purchase the Day 5 test to release, but this must also be booked before your journey.

You can book your fit to fly test at the farmacia on El Raso for 40€

The rules change as of 4th October. If you have had your jabs you no longer need a test, however you will still need a day two test back home and I assume you will still need to fill in the government form, which requires a reference number to show you have purchased a day two test. I think this ...

...is dreadful, you are forced to pay over here, for over in uk, yet you can get tests free from any chemist, but that’s Blighty for you.

Hi Phil, Thanks for your reply,I did pay for and received a test which I completed sent back, got a negative result, but I have had both  jabs, I thought that the proof letter with some bar codes on would have been enough??   I did not pay for the QR code to go Spain.!!  I stayed with friends who live in a beautiful mountainous area just 30 mins from Alicante.

Just another way to get money out of us, It has certainly made me think twice about going abroad for a while, will probably book some thing in UK, regards
