Even if you could don't you think that taking an 88 year old to the shops to be completely unnecessarily and avoidably exposed to infection would be an act of recklessness?

She has a simple choice, strong willed -v- hungry.

In the UK people over the age of 70 were told to stay at home for 12 weeks, didn't they do this in Spain ? If they did she shouldn't leave the house..full stop.

Clarify "asked" not "told", unless you have more up-to-date information.

Thanks for your input. I believe its a similar situation in Spain as an advisory only indication as to vulnerable situation in particularly young persons, infirm or the elderly. The main aim is to contain all & confine "themselves" at home & to venture out only when essential & within the directives. Especially the elderly.

Mornin 'all, for my 2pennath, i'm a Volunteer driver here in UK for 2 organisations, the minute the lockdown was  initiated, all driving to hospital appnts or shopping/hairdressing was cancelled immediately. The cross contamination in a car would be drastic.
