You said the 250 to 400 thousand illegals did not contribute to the economy when in fact they do in their own way I didnt say it was right for them to be in Spain illegal.

And your political statements refer to brexiteers and racism

Yes I understand what you're saying, ie that it is accessing a service you're not entitled to (which hopefully will stop) but my point - or question - is whether it is also a financial fraud as I think the treatments in all cases are charged back to the NHS?

So, assuming that's correct, a treatment in Spain, assuming that treatment would have been necessary in the UK is not actually costing Spain more. Would love to hear from someone who knows the correct information on this.

Thanks Ray, it's quite likely you're right.

I do have a villa in spain, I believe once the uk has left completely with or without a deal it will be slightly harder to gain residency.. but not so bad, you have to remember that what ever deal is struck with spain ,it will be reciprocal ie the Spanish people in the uk will also need to forefi...

...ll the same criteria.

Also to note is spain relies on expats and tourism from the uk for as an estimated 10%

Of its entire economy, why would they suddenly decide to make that difficult.

Anyway back on topic, we were joking about it’s possible reasons for making announcements...

Oh dear not the old 'Spain relies on expats and tourism brigade ' for one we are not expats we are immigrants. Just cos we're British we're not special despite what many think and two there are many many scandinavians here and Belgians and French and Russians and eastern Europeans buying up property. Dont kid yourselves spain only need the tourists on the Costas. Big cities etc get by complete ok without us. Also it will be a lot harder to get unless you have money. Mortgages and jobs for brits becoming harder and the reciprocal thing is not between spain and the uk its 27 countries and the uk. There are not 27 reciprocal agreements. Do your homework

The EHIC is nothing whatsoever to do with the SIP!

I'm perfectly aware of that.

I  stand corrected.

No 1. Spain is happy to lose 10% of its income

No 2. Your not an expat or special.

No 3.at the end of December the eu will throw you all out of spain because there will probably be no agreement.

No 4.sadly I think you need to revise...

Just to clear something up about expat versus immigrant..

Immigrants are defined as people who have come to a different country in order to live there permanently, whereas expats move abroad for a limited amount of time or have not yet decided upon the length of their stay,”

If you live permanently in Spain, you are an immigrant.(At least I am).

What are you doing in Spain if you support leaving the EU my friend. You will find it more expensive and harder to get here in future, If you are of the opinion to leave the EU then stay out of it.

How incredibly arrogant your statement is. Voting to leave the racket that is the EUSSR has nothing at all to do with being in Spain. You have no right in my opinion to be so condescending just because you do not agree with someone else. Yours dare I say is the type of attitude that led to the UK voting to leave.
