Update:

Flew from LGW to ALC this evening with Ryanair.

Gatwick very very quiet but surprisingly flight nearly 75% full.

Security was very swift, mainly because there were more staff than passengers!

At the gate I showed my EU passport and my Spanish QR code (health form) and was immediately waved through.

Uneventful flight ensued and we landed at Alicante only 10 minutes late (delayed due to airtraffic control issues I believe).

At Alicante, everybody was told to go to same passport control. Inserted EU passport into machine and went through with no problems.

Was asked to show healthform QR twice after passport control, no interest in PCR test or proof of vaccinations. All in all took roughly 10 minutes to go through passport control/health form check.

All very very well organised both at LGW and ALC. Ryanair staff seemed very clued up and was one of my most enjoyable flights in recent years!

Not going to please certain people but if you are allowed to travel, you are allowed to travel!

What is the QR form and how do you get it?

Here is a link to the form to enter Spain. You get a QR code once completed.

I have never arrived by ferry but assume that the crossing reference number with a note saying "ferry" would do?

Hi Steve. All ok now with Spain letting holiday makers in from 24th May and no PCR required

Previously we were in the same position as you with a house over there and works needing to be scheduled

We got a signed letter from our estate agent to say that there was a broken water pipe at the house and urgent works needed. we are going into alicante

Your contract and deeds should have been enough to get into the country according to the rules. However you are at the mercy of whoever us at the border

My friend who had a holiday home in Spain went on the ferry from the uk with her deeds and letter from agent. She was stopped by police on the road near to Almeria when Spain was in partial lockdown. The letter and deeds were good enough then and they were able to continue their journey.

Thankfully we now don’t have this worry. Good to know for the future. Heaven forbid.

It’s true Spain is now allowing travelers from the UK to enter without a neg covid test nor any proof of vaccination. I have always said that Spain’s reaction would be totally driven by money and the tourist industry. And so it has transpired, but I honestly hope that it all works out well, I really do. Personally, I would rather travel on an aircraft where the person sitting next to me has at least had a neg test within 72 hours prior to flying. People can now potentially fly to Spain and have covid, pass it on in the aircraft and also spread it in Spain. Hey ! but the Spanish tourism industry is now getting back on its feet !

Yes that may be true and if we hadn’t had both jabs we would not have come.

Yes. We’ve had our 2 jabs. The valencia region is low risk and we are limiting our time out. There are barely any tourists here. The aeroplane was 1/3 full. We sat near no one. Getting our
emergency works carried out. Essential our visit.
