We haven't been there since February last year, only been once since we bought in October 19.

Hi Steve, we are booked 29th May, same reason as you.

We are allowed out of the UK to amber countries from Monday 17th. From what I’m reading Spain are hopefully allowing in people from outside EU (and low virus rates) from 20th May, hoping this becomes official this week!

I’m aware of testing and isolating on return etc.

Good luck! Keep us posted! Thanks

Hi Steve I read in the paper that Spain is looking to relax the none essential travel to none eu countries on the 20 of may and if you have had your vaccinations you will not require a pcr test. There is an app you can go on through your doctors to prove you have had the vaccines.

Good luck Steve hope all goes well.

Hi all. Can anyone help me?.

My wife and I are booked to fly to Alicante on the 22nd May in order to see how the work is going at our house on the Urb. However, there is no clear info either on the Spanish consulate website or from the FCO as to whether our trip will be thwarted when we arrive at Alicante by the border guard...

...s. We are not coming for a holiday, we are coming to check work carried out at our house, buy more materials and generally sort out stuff etc etc. Has anyone got any idea as to whether we will be allowed in? will I need to bring deeds to the house or contract with the builder to prove we are having work done? Hope someone can help.

Kind Regards

Steve

This suggests you might be OK from 20th May.

Hi Steve

This has been discussed extensively on the forum. This is the official U.K. position.

You need to be clear that, regardless of what the U.K. say, at any point, that the Spanish will allow you in. My understanding is that the position is still that you’re not to leave the U.K. and the Spanish won’t allow you in. Other members will correct that understanding if incorrect 🤪🥂

I've just arrived in Spain (Alicante airport) on Sunday. I had to show that I had Residency. I showed my green Residency card and was immediately given the go ahead both in the UK and in Spain. The reason you mentioned for coming to Spain will be accepted, but you have to tick the 'Other' box at the bottom of the list of reasons on the Gov.UK form, and then write your reason down. The Spanish are only interested in your Passport and Residency document.

Even if Spain do let you in next week, unless things change, you are not currently allowed to leave the UK for the purposes you outline. Even if you did get out, bear in mind any travel insurance is likely to be invalid and you will have to quarantine on your return.

This is not correct. You can write in your reason if you tick the 'Other' box in the Gov.UK form. Quarantining has nothing to do with that. You will have to quarantine on your return if Spain is not on the UK green list, whatever your reason for travel.

Sorry should have said, quarantine would be required and PCR tests to get back into U.K. if you do end up being allowed to travel.

You don't need a PCR test to get back to the UK. The cheaper Antigen test at €39 is satisfactory.

Hi Steve,

My friend got into Malaga 2 weeks ago just by providing his house deeds. Not sure if it’s any different because you’re going to Alicante, but would definitely take your house deeds and contract with builders if you are going to try.

good luck!

Chris.

I travelled back to Spain (Alicante) on Sunday and the Spanish were only interested in my Residency documents. I just showed my passport and green Residency card and was waved on. Apparently, they have updated their rules.

Sorry, you are right about the antigen test.
