Sorry, you are right about the antigen test.

Where can I get the antigen test?

I used DAM Health in Alicante and got sent results same day. They have clinics on many areas. So you could try and Google them for your nearest one.

I travelled back to Spain (Alicante) on Sunday and the Spanish were only interested in my Residency documents. I just showed my passport and green Residency card and was waved on. Apparently, they have updated their rules.

I think this question is about non residents entering Spain. We know that residents can come.

I am afraid it was absolutely correct at the time I posted it. Amongst other reasons you were allowed to leave the UK for purposes associated with the purchase, sale or preparation for rental of property. Checking on building progress does not fit those reasons -  unless maybe if it is a new build or you are having work done in preparation for rental. I got the impression the OP was just going to check on some work they were having done.

I own a property out there how do I get residency without living there?

Since we left EU, you have to apply for a non lucrative visa from the UK in order to become resident in Spain.

You can’t now apply to become resident when you’re already in Spain, unless you can prove you were here prior to 31 December 2020.

Otherwise you can only enter Spain when restrictions for “tourists” are lifted. You will then be permitted to stay for no more than 90 days in 180 day period.

There are several posts in this forum detailing the procedures for obtaining NLV and for calculating the 90/180 day rule.

Hi all. Can anyone help me?.

My wife and I are booked to fly to Alicante on the 22nd May in order to see how the work is going at our house on the Urb. However, there is no clear info either on the Spanish consulate website or from the FCO as to whether our trip will be thwarted when we arrive at Alicante by the border guard...

...s. We are not coming for a holiday, we are coming to check work carried out at our house, buy more materials and generally sort out stuff etc etc. Has anyone got any idea as to whether we will be allowed in? will I need to bring deeds to the house or contract with the builder to prove we are having work done? Hope someone can help.

Kind Regards

Steve

Hi. I don't think they will allow you in under current regs. You have to have a more valid reason to travel to Spain alas.

I've just arrived in Spain (Alicante airport) on Sunday. I had to show that I had Residency. I showed my green Residency card and was immediately given the go ahead both in the UK and in Spain. The reason you mentioned for coming to Spain will be accepted, but you have to tick the 'Other' box at ...

...the bottom of the list of reasons on the Gov.UK form, and then write your reason down. The Spanish are only interested in your Passport and Residency document.

You appear to be a resident of Spain. As such, you have always been allowed to enter/ re enter.

Steve, I understand, is not a resident of Spain and therefore, wanting to check on building progress is/was not an acceptable reason for travel at the time of asking. 🤪🥂

You don't need a PCR test to get back to the UK. The cheaper Antigen test at €39 is satisfactory.

You are correct to a degree. Yes, you will require covid negative tests for both legs of the journey BUT you will also require a post arrival test which costs approximately £200 each in order to board the flight home. You must quarantine for 10 days upon return and take the 2 tests you’ve paid the £200 each for.  It’s as simple as that.

Listening to the news on BBC and it seems that Spain is now welcoming people with both vaccinations to come into the country. If you have your flight booked and decide not to go because Spain us in the Amber list, the airlines refuse to compensate you. The flight is going and it’s up to you to travel or lose your flights. People were travelling today to Spain, Greece and other countries that are on the Amber list. So, as long as you are prepared to pay for you negative covid tests for both flights and also your post arrival tests before flying home (which are pretty pricey ) but hey, ho, lots of us haven’t been able to travel for so long so if you can afford to pay for them, go and enjoy your holiday in your favourite place. You’d need to go soon before Boris puts a halt to it again!
