Hi nikkimunday

Couldn’t say for sure, however, a friend is flying back to Spain shortly. She is fully (x2) vaccinated but will have a test before she flies.

I will be flying the other way. From Spain to the UK.

In which case, my opinion, until vaccine passports at least, yes. Maybe even with vaccine passports, if they’re introduced. Antigen test at €40 not too onerous.

Depending when you’re thinking of travelling, there will also be the day 2 and 8 which is currently in place.

My own experience of this.. days 2 and 8 testing.. shambles🤪🥂

Only going back to pack up the rest of what we want and get a man and van to bring it over here to Spain. Shan't be going back again. Got the house to go over there as well so quite a lot to do. At least all sorted here, apart from the Covid jabs.

👍👍 We’re still in the “shall we shall we not” stage (been dithering about for the last 18 months). Really need to make the decision this year 🤪🥂

Sorry IanW

I have to disagree with you, there have been endless posts on this topic of Covid testing requirements for travel on this site, as many still thinks they have to pay for the PCR test, if anyone is still unsure it is very clear on the Gov.U.K. Site, I have directed several friends and neighbors to...

... Julian Rodrigues at El Raso pharmacy who does need your passport and will present you with you result in hard copy form as a certificate within 2 hrs.

And of course you still have to order and pay for your quarantine PCR travel package for day 2 and 8, on the gov.gov U.K. website now the cheapest is now down to £175

I agree the lateral flow test €40 was all I needed to fly back to London on 1st March the sting in the tail was the £210 prebooked test for day 2 and 8. I’ve had jab now and booked to fly back Friday lateral flow test due Thursday at O2

So who in the area does the PCR test free? I thought you had  to pay for that.

Is this in response to Leah and the comment “pay for a PCR test” ?

I think she’s saying, pay for a (expensive) PCR test rather than pay for a very reasonable Antigen; not that you don’t have to pay 🤪🥂

It is not possible to hold ‘dual residency’. If your main home is UK, ie where you actually live, and your taxes are paid there, and you are in receipt of NHS healthcare etc, then that is your country of residence; your visits to Spain are just that, visits. Bearing in mind the rules regarding frequency and length of visits, 90 days in a rolling 180.

Should you decide to make Spain your permanent home, then all the Spanish requirements must be complied with: demonstrable income requirements, private health care provision, and fiscal position, ie you no longer pay tax in UK but all income is subject to Spanish tax.

I had one done at El Raso Pharmacy for €40. Popped in a few days prior to book it. Would recommend at least one week prior as they get booked up quickly. The result was emailed to me the following day. It’s only a 10-15 trip from La Marina.
