Hi We are due to arrive in Spain on the 18th Dec. I know the rules in the uk have changed and we would now need to have a PCR test on day two of arriving back and have to isolate till we get the results. BUT I have seen that Spain will only accept fully vaccinated people now. I have a 14 year old that in the UK can not have 2 vaccinations does this mean we can not travel? Is this likely to be reviewed in Spain in the next few weeks like the uk?

Thank you, sounds like we will not be able to to travel now. Gutted, but it is what it is nothing we can do about it.

I'm just thinking that in many countries, including Spain, only one dose of the vaccination is currently being given to 14 year olds so do they get their covid passport after the single dose? In other words are 14 year olds considered fully vaccinated after a single dose?
Can anyone provide a link to confirmation either way?

This suggests contacting your local MP for a definitive answer.

Thank you, I thought it was only the UK that were administering only one dose for children.  I will have to look into this further.

Does fully vaccinated include the booster jab. There are a lot of people still waiting to have it, that are booked to travel soon.

No it doesnt at the moment , just heard Scotland and Wales asking Johnson to upgrade 2 day pcr to 2 & 8 day pcr test which wont go down well with people due to fly soon.

Hi,

the Gov.UK website (below) says that fully vaccinated is two jabs for vaccines that require 2 doses or a single jab for vaccines that require only one dose. The Janssen vaccine is available in the UK and that is a single dose. Not sure if you could arrange that for your 14 year old as it is quite tight given the vaccines take 14 days to be considered fully effective.

Thank you for your response. My daughter has had one dose of the Pfizer about 2 weeks ago. So we are pretty stuck really as the UK will not give another dose. I think this may change but it will be to late for us. The company we are renting the Vila off have confirmed we can not travel now and are fully refunding us. Just need to try and get a refund for the flights from easyJet but that’s not as easy as it seems.
Hopefully we will be able to travel at Easter 🤞🏽

Hi,

well it's good that your daughter is getting the vaccine and it's just bad timing with the new restrictions.

A shame that you have to cancel your trip but good news that you can get a refund on the accommodation. I would think as a minimum Easyjet would give a voucher but a full refund would be better. Good luck with your revised plans.

Aitch.
