Apologies if this is repeated, but Covid test on your return into Uk after 2 days, and I understand it has to be purchased before departing to Spain , what prices are being paid and is this only possible through Gov.uk .

There are plenty of suppliers to choose from on the Gov website, watch out for high p&p charges when you get to the end of the purchase.
We paid around £60 but there are cheaper ones.
You can purchase your tests before you leave the uk but we didn't, what if you were denied boarding in the uk ? Money lost.
We bought ours once in Spain and in good time for delivery to your home in the uk so they are waiting for you when you get back.
Unique reference numbers must go on your uk locator form.

Testing For All seems very reasonable at £52. Haven't booked it yet as not travelling to Spain until Sunday.

So, we are in the UK for a few weeks but resident in Spain. Are you saying that we have to take a test before flying home to Spain? It's already cot us a fortune to get here for a few weeks.

I think the question was about flights to Spain and return. I don't know what the rules are coming from Spain if you resident. However, I seem to remember that this question has already been posted and answered on the forum quite recently.

As the rules stand at the moment, as long as you have your vaccination certificate that’s all you need to enter Spain, as well as the spth form.
If you don’t have the vaccination certificate then a non resident needs a PCR test and a resident needs an antigen test. .
However with the likelihood (rumours!) of Spain going on the U.K. Amber plus list, Spain may react in the same way as France did over the weekend and change the rules for anyone entering Spain from the U.K.
