Hi I have just sold my car, can anyone tell me how long before change of ownership is complete, the perspective buyers have been to a notary, and taken out insurance for the car, but my insurance company have told me that I cannot stop my insurance until i I receive notice from traffico to say the new owners now can now go ahead with the purchase of the car,

any help with this would be much appreciated as nearly a month has past now since first selling the car,

Thanks Brian.

There is nothing to say that the new owner has to wait for the transfer to be completed before they can drive the car as you can give them permission to drive on your insurance in the interim.

Thank you for your helpfull reply, the new perspective owners have already taken out their own insurance, but my insurance company says I have to wait until the car is in their name,

Thanks Brian
