Also any advise about owning a car in Spain.
Thank you.

Remember it’s the car that is insured in Spain not a person. Anyone over the age of 25 can drive the car with the car’s insurance.
You need to pay road tax which is collected by Suma, the price varies depending on the car size and if it’s diesel or petrol, the price also varies from region to region. I pay 110€/year for my 1.9 diesel Passat but this is on the high side compared to other regions. You need to take it for an ITV(MOT) once a year, new cars are every 2 years.
Then you have general up keep and fuel.

Thank you.
We are currently going through a claim with Abbeygate insurance, they are in Malaga. Very impressed with service so far, English speaking on WhatsApp and very easy and prompt communication. Our last company (Rightmove) said they offered an English speaking helpline but we never managed to navigate the system .
As for owning a car, weigh up the pros and cons as it really depends on how often you will be in Spain and it can be tricky to get it for itv, repairs etc and you may not want to spend your holiday doing that. More convenient, and overall running costs cheaper than hiring but there is the initial outlay and second hand cars are expensive in Spain.
Good luck!

Unless it's changed cars under 4 years old do not need a ITV test, 4-10 years test every 2 years, 10 years+ test every year. I took my car to San Javier test centre last year, good service.
I use Abbeygate for my car insurance, always get a good price and when needed found their service to be good. So get a quote from a two or three brokers (I use Jennifer Cunningham for home insurance, their service is good also).
Road tax for my 1.6D Altea is 55 euro, easliy done online.
I get the car serviced every 2 years as I only do +/- 3000 miles per annum.
Keep an eye on tyres, due to the effect of sun causing cracks in the tyre walls they can needed changed even with plenty of tread left.
Rgds,
