Just in case any members aren't aware of the change, I thought I'd post the latest information.

With effect from 1st July just gone, the national speed limit in France for roads with no separation between the carriageways has been reduced from 90 kph to 80 kph.

It's important to note that there are thousands of speed cameras in France - they seem to be everywhere, even out in the sticks, and many are not at all conspicuous. So be careful folks!

Geoff.

also the road signs may still show 90 as some communes are refusing to pay to change them but the speed limit is now 80! Martin

Yes, I'm sure it will be some form of physical separation, grass verge, hedge, crash barrier etc.

Hi

Another issue is to be aware of is that speed camera warning on Sat Navs are not permitted. Looking on the Tom Tom websight, most of theirs if have been updated so that now they alert you when you are in a Danger Zone instead, most speed camera are present in these ares, these they say are legal. If you go on their site it tells you which models are able to be updated. So beware if you have an old model or you havn't updated for a while. I dont know about Garmin, it would be worth looking at their site if you have one.

Cheers  Steve
