Am I correct in saying that a car  insured by the owner can be driven by a family member over 25 with your permission

I'd check with the insurance company rather than with a load of folk from an online forum

Car insurance in Spain covers the car and not the driver. It can be driven by anyone (not just family members) who are over 25 provided the correct licence is held and permission is given. N332 site gives an example of the permission form you can use although this is not the be all and end all of letters. Just shows you what you should include.

But always check your insurance documents to see if multiple drivers and restrictions are stated.

Most EU countries allow someone else to drive your car. For example, if you are in an accident, anyone can drive the car out of danger and be insured for it.
