Have you tried Club Cars in La Marina. I can highly recommend them both in identifying a suitable car and after sales service.
Depends if they have stock of the type of car and price you are wanting to pay, but might be worth a look. Right on your doorstep too.
Unless you know exactly what you are doing, it could end up being expensive buying privately. A lot of things to be checked. Speeding fines, parking tickets etc follow the car.
