Notwithstanding everything written above, the short and precise answer to your question is - NO.

The British built Spain.  They need us now more than ever because they owe so much money that they will never pay it off.  The EU is in the same position.  Greece, Italy and Portugal ditto.   In the next, very few, years the EU will collapse in a pile of debt.  You heard it here first.

FWIW

http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_IP-18-6851_en.htm

My personal opinion is that it will go to the wire and end up in an 'informed' people's vote (not a second referendum! ) in which there are but two options, leave with no deal or forget the whole sorry pantomime and remain in the EU.

No deal still leaves the Irish border problem however to which there is no solution. How deliciously ironic then that one 'backstop' for those so entitled is to apply for an Irish passport!

Stands a chance!

If we all believe the UK will do well and it prospers as it should there may be a mass exodus of other members deciding the same.

Anyway we are in the hands of self centred politicians.

Brexit ... if/what/when is anyone's guess right now. Personally, I think Brexit is economic madness, and hope that Parliament acts responsibly and kills it off.

But objectively, the EU has published the outline arrangements for visiting the EU (including Spain) for up to 90 days, post Brexit. The arrangements will be cheap and easy. So no worries for holiday home owners.

The concern would be for individual Brits living full time in Spain under the radar - no healthcare, no residency. It looks likely that Spanish residency will be more difficult to obtain post Brexit, and that the qualifying income requirements might exceed the financial resources of some individuals. Those with no return path to the UK could face an uncertain future in Spain.

Mrs May's agreement provides for Brits in Spain who already have their residency in place to "convert" to post-Brexit arrangements relatively painlessly. There is also a transition period for people to obtain residency legally.

In the unthinkable event that we end up with a no-deal Brexit, who knows if/what transitional period there will be. There is zero chance of obtaining residency by 29th March (to beat a no-deal exit) if you haven't started the process already.

When we leave and we will do you honestly believe SPAIN will want to make life difficult for the Brits I doubt it we are responsible for all the money they generate take the Brits out the Costa would be a ghost town and thousands of Spanish jobs lost.
