On the 15th of March I travelled to England via Alicante Airport and had my passport stamped DESPITE handing him my TIE card . I tried to object but he was adamant that he stamp my passport and quoted article 16 and 19,when I asked him what law he was quoting e became angry despite me being softly spoken and non confrontational

He then walked out of the booth. I will now have to make sure I get a stamp coming back to Spain. Whilst awaiting my flight it was apparent that I was not the only one who had their passport stamped.
Word of warning to anyone,we know our passports shouldn't be stamped but if you are met with a rogue policeman just make sure you are stamped coming back to Spain.

Yes but it makes it a problem when you come to do the NLV renewal because as they photocopy every page of your passport and check how many times you have left and re-entered spain. On my last renewal I had a stamp when I re-entered spain from having 2 weeks in the UK,again police wouldn't accept that I didn't need a stamp so I had to send evidence of when I left and luckily they accepted my booking from Ryanair which I printed off from my phone. I have the last NLV visa due July 2024 and can't wait to have it all finished.
