I was told today by a member of PP that it is the British government that do not allow me to vote in the Spanish General elections.

I am resident in Spain, over 20 years, and can vote in local elections but not in general election.

Is that so?

Yes, it's probably correct. I've been resident in Denmark for 50 years and can't vote to their general elections. Its nothing to do with the UK government, they just stop your right to vote in the UK after 15 years.

I believe it is only Spanish citizens who can vote in general elections. So there you go, if you want to take part, apply for citizenship.

PS - by the way, you can always tell when a member of the PP is lying. His lips are moving.
