La Marina Urbanization is multicultural. I have Spanish, French and German neighbours. There is Spanish spoken in the shops and if you try to converse in Spanish as I do it is appreciated. There are many different priced houses. I have never come across a slum area as mentioned in a post and I have walked the length and breadth of the place! San Fulgencio Council have put on a free bus for the annual tapas route, a Christmas Fayre in the next village with free bus. You can integrate as much as you like.

Hi Caroline,
Multicultural indeed! I've just got back from lunch at La Marina, in the new Japanese restaurant in the commercial centre near Overseas (sashimi being one of my favourite foods, so a welcome addition in my opinion). It was really busy and I think the English diners were outnumbered, about 3 to 1, by Spanish people 😋👍
I really enjoyed the food. It's called a buffet, but actually you order from a menu at your table and the food is prepared to order and brought to you. For €12.95 per head (€13.95 Friday to Sunday), you can order as much as you like.
It's open 7 days per week, midday to 4pm and 7pm to midnight.
Kind regards,
Kim
Thank you for the replies, this all sounds great for the future! At the moment I am surrounded by 426 boxes (some of them emptied thank goodness). Sadly the final few legal requirements for our US home means that I will miss my wife on 25th. You may see an Italian plated SUV around the urb trying to dispose of my cardboard in a responsible fashion in the recycling bins. Don't worry, I am not a fly tipper, just trying to get rid of it properly. On the other hand, if anybody needs cardboard boxes, send me a note!
Welcome to La Marina Urbanizacion Ian, I was unpacking my boxes only 6 month ago and I know how much work it is 😩
Take a break on the 25th December and go to La Marina beach to celebrate with happy people all nationalities Xmas, so sorry your wife can’t join you.

It’s been very enjoyable following your story Ian. It has brought a smile to our faces. Bit sad that you and your wife will be apart for Christmas. Just think of the Christmases to come. All the best for the future,
Mutt 🐶

Happy New Year to You and your Family
Hello Ian, good luck on your new life in Espana. I see you and your lady have relocated from Italy, if you don't mind saying what was the reason or reasons for the move from Italy to Spain, you see I am undecided whether to choose Italy over Spain. I enjoy the Italian way of life and as I am a cyclist Italy seems the better place as they are so enthusiastic about all things sporty and they do seem to be a bit more outgoing towards enthusistic foreigners.
