Nomadbob. Do you have an irrigation system linked to your pot plants. My plants are watered in the evening and the birds are down in the morning digging in the soil and drinking the water that seeps through to the holding tray. They throw out a lot of small pieces of soil from the pots. Perhaps this could be your problem.

Nomadbob. I haven't tried it, but I have seen a number of properties in my area with clear bottles filled with water which they put out. It apparently is supposed to reflect the image of the cat when it comes to investigate and the cat thinks it is a rival and leaves the vicinity. Might be worth a try if you suspect cats for the damage. Passive aggressive towards cats. As for your fountain, have you tried either Amazon or the Chino bazzars, they seem to stock EVERYTHING.
