Hi Have lived in Almeria,Mojacar.Back in the UK now but would like to return 2/3 months in the winter to a new area.

So Gran Alicante looks good.Is there much going on in Jan Feb? Like a good social life.

Is it easy to find long term rentals?Open to ideas on areas

Thank you and just for reference we are early 70s.

2 months is not a long term rental. Tourist rentals are a maximum of 10 days. Seasonal rentals are from 11 days to 11 months but are not for tourist purposes. They are for health reasons, work, study or whilst refurbishment of your own home is being carried out. No cleaning services or meals are provided for these type of rentals. There must be a lease stating arrival and departure days plus the reason for the stay. Long term rentals are from 11 months up for at least a year and up to 5 years.

It is no longer possible to take a rental in the Valencia Region as short stay for more than 10 days unless a particular reason.

This only applies in the Valencia Region so might I suggest you look at another region for a stay which does not have this ridiculous rule.

Thank you so much for the info.

I'm amazed as thought the 90 day rule would apply?

You can, of course, stay in a hostel or a hotel for up to 90 days but private rentals have had all these restrictions put on them.

The 90 day rule does apply but the Valencian government seem to have asked a passing child how many they can count up to and decided to make this the limit. This is a very badly thought out reaction to the protests regarding the lack of affordable housing. Once Valencia realise how much money they are losing they may ask someone sensible.
I don't think Murcia has any restrictions yet.

Sadly this 10 night restriction was brought in last August for all new bookings. Andalucia has a 31 day limit now for holiday stays. Murcia may be an option still.

And if you want somewhere lively I suggest that you go to Benidorm. Hotels and hetels and aparthotels all offer very reasonable rate in the winter.

Cheers, J
