Not local, but the tool hire centre at San Luis do both dedicated tile cutters and angle grinders (which they call disc cutters).

If you don't want to rush all the cutting in one 24 hour hire period, and you're happy using an angle grinder, it might be cheaper to buy an angle grinder. For example, if you hired a 115mm angle grinder it would cost €10 a day, but you could buy a cheap one from Bricodepot for €10.95. Obviously a 230mm angle grinder would be dearer, but makes it quicker, and easier to cut a straight line, albeit it would be more difficult to control (and more dangerous!).

Diamond discs from the chinos don't have a lot of diamond in them so they cut slower than a good one, but they're dirt cheap. That's all I buy these days.

If you only want to do straight cuts, and don't want to cut narrow slivers, then a manual cutter would do the job, even on the thick Spanish tiles.

How many do you need to cut?
