I saw a post on Facebook recently written by Sparks Electrical Services about electricity prices here in Spain which was really informative, it explained about how the marketeers here in Spain work and how they make their money and more importantly how to save money.

I sent a copy of my invoice to to Sparks and they changed me over to the regulated market with Iberdrola direct (Not Iberdrola Clientes) when I got my first invoice on the new tariff I couldn´t believe the difference, compared to the same period the year before I saved €40..

You are on the same as me. I am wondering whether it is worth changing to time of day rates. I don't use much at night - particularly when the villa is empty and I think the day rate is slightly higher with time of day rates. Most of my bill when the villa is empty is made up of fixed costs anyway. I did enquire ([email protected]) and Curenergia sent the following regarding making the change (Google Translated):

"Through this channel I can attend you in Spanish since we do not have a language department, if you wish you can call us at 900 200 708 where they transfer you to the department in charge.

You currently have the rate without dh (hourly discrimination), the activation or deactivation of hourly discrimination, carries a cost of 10.94 that will come out in a single invoice when the change is managed."

With the regulated rate there is no increase in the daytime rate if you change over to Plan Noche

Thanks, Someone somewhere had said it was higher. So the only downside is a on off payment of around £10?

May as well go for it then If I can work out how to dial that number from the UK (phones are my nemesis!)

It is only higher with Iberdrola Clientes, in the regulated market it is not....  there is a small fee for making the adjustment to your meter.

But as the off peak rate is until 12 noon at the moment it is well worth it

And at the end of next month it will be until 13:00.
