I am thinking of running a free beekeeping course for anyone interested in Honey bees, either keeping bees and

producing your own honey, or simply out of interest. I have kept bees for 45 years in the UK.

It will primarily be a PowerPoint presentation, but a beehive and other beekeeping equipment will be used to make it easier to understand how it all works.

There is no limit to how many can attend, other than the number of chairs available in the hall where the table tennis is played. The course will be held over 4 weeks, probably 2 hours each session. It will be held during June (this June, that is). If anyone is interested, please use the private messaging service facility on this site.

All I need is someone to tell me how I can book the Centre for the talks at the top of Calle San Francisco de Asis, near the police station across from the Dial a prix. Steve

Hi Steve I think if you go into the town hall you will be able to book the hall through them.

Your post caught my eye but I would be more interested in a hands on demonstration than a powerpoint course, difficult I know. Do you still keep bees here in La Marina?

That's a great idea and generous of you to share valuable experience with others.  Unfortunately I'm not in a position to make the travel, however if you considered  zoom meetings I would very much like the opportunity to learn.  Someone mentioned 'hands on'...do charge for those.  Generally anything offered for free is never given the value it deserves.  Look forward to your response Steve.  Kindest.

Thanks, Maria, but I am in England and on holiday in La Marina Urb. for June.

I was thinking it would be of interest to any Expats who have retired there, or even on Holiday, to spend a couple of hours midday when it's very hot. My demonstration hive in Spain has frames with real photos of the hive interior with all the bees, brood and food, etc.

I have an empty hive here, so the demonstration will be complete, except there won't be any bees. Apparently, beekeeping in Spain has rules excluding honey bees from being kept in residential areas.

I don't know how easy it will be to get in touch with the Town Hall and organise it, that's if there is enough interest. Hwere in England, I normally have a minimum of 20 people, adults or children.

 Thanks for your help. Steve

Hi Petra. I don't and never have charged. It's my hobby. I'm not into doing the talks over the internet. It's the friendly atmosphere and banter I enjoy with everyone.
