They can, but they choose to cheat when no one is looking, and then the sun dries the offensive mound turning it into toxic dust, which in turn becomes airborne in the wind. So when you take that embracing walk along the seafront licking your lips and tasting the salty sea fragrance on your lips, you are in fact ingesting dog poo, and therefore the Deli belly you wake up with the following day, is not from last nights curry, but probably from your inconsiderate dog worshipping neighbours, who in the dulcet tones of Clark Gable “don’t give a damn”.

Hi

There are many posts about the dog poo in all areas.

All down to inconsiderate owners and the poor dogs get the blame. If I ever see someone not picking it up I always always say something. Even to the point of taking their picture and threatening to report them. A lot of the time they then pick it up with a poo bag already in their pocket! Just complete laziness and completely (excuse the pun) but not giving a s**t about others.

I say follow them and dump all the crap to their house. Apologies but I just get savage about it.

Up the fines and punishment. TAKE THE DOGS OFF THEM.

I would welcome the day when all dogs are banned, the environment would be much safer not just for humans but mainly for the indigenous wild life.

I just cannot understand the mentality of dog owners who are totally oblivious to the mess they deliberately cover whole areas of what should be a civilised clean town.

As a dog owner who has always cleaned up our dog poo I can sympathise with non dog owners. This is something we were asked to do in England and eventually we all got into the habit of doing it despite it not being a very pleasant task. In England there were not that many bins and sometimes we had to walk a long way to find one carrying the bags. I say in England as I dont know what the other countries do in terms of picking up. What I do know is there are far more bins here on the urb so that is no excuse. Maybe installing cameras or having local police in the parkland informing the public that it is illegal to not pick up could be the answer. I haven't seen too many multi lingual signs around the urb informing all dog walkers of the need to pick up. I think it's an educational thing and some money needs to be spent on it. Maybe someone could complain to the town hall to see if a campaign could be started. It worked pretty well in England despite the lack of police.

I agree with Yogited, it's a matter of education.  If, for example, all dog owners were aware that dog excrement carries the parasitic roundworm found in dog intestines, Toxocara, that can cause blindness in humans, I'd like to think they would be more careful about cleaning up after their pet.

I also find it disgusting when I see animal faeces left on roads and pavements.   I'm a dog owner and we don't take our dog anywhere without poop bags.  Last year, we were walking along the prom at Guardamar one afternoon behind a young Spanish couple and when their dog did a wee, they sprayed the area with water - we thought it was a brilliant idea, so we now do the same.

It's not dogs that need to be banned, just bad owners.

Hi

I agree with the last couple of comments and in my previous post I did say it's not the dogs fault.

However, I dont agree that some dog owners are not aware that they should pick up the poo and down to education. The practice of not picking up is so obviously socially unacceptable.

Everyone knows it needs to be picked up. I

It's a simple fact of laziness along with thinking that their little dog poo will make no difference to the area.......trouble is they all think the same!
