Anyone knows if the police takes matters like this seriously?

Landlord is not Spanish nor lives in Spain. Where can i go to report and does anyone speak English at the police in la marina urb? I just got here and only staying for a while hence not speaking or learning Spanish

Landlord keeps sending people here to tell me he does not need a court order to evict me and that he has friends in the police so he does not need a court order and that the police will come any time and kick me out: all in writing/sms. Landlord will come from abroad in a couple of days to kick me out personally, I have done nothing wrong, paid the rent etc but getting very scared and tired of the constant ringing of the bell by people he hires to harass me. I have everything in writing incl people he hires to come to my door bc they send me smses too telling me to leave and that the police will come any minute

ps i have a contract for a year's rental which can not be terminated by either parties, only rented a month or two before he told me to leave

I would say yes. This is completely against the law.

The landlord CANNOT do this under any circumstances

I would go to the guardia covil and get their advise

Absolutely they will take it seriously, the law in Spain is on the side of the renter. They cannot cut off utilities either it is against the law.

I would go to the police with an interpreter if needed.

Good luck

If you use a translatermake sure you get a receipt in case it goes to court so you should get your money back. Good Luck

Try giving George a call, if he can't help he will know someone who can. He speaks German, English and Spanish.

His office is on the road between the top of the Urb. and the petrol station.
