Hi,
Quick question which I'm sure often comes up
Does the date stamp on the orange
rubber butane gas pipe denote date of manufacture or expiry date.

are you sure jim.
it should be marked with a date of manufacture giving it a five year life .
But If In doubt change it any way. the pipe is cheap and not worth the risk.

Actually we're both right. I forgot that it shows manufacturing date, followed by the expiry date. Expiry date is often preceded by fecha caducidao or fecha de caducidad etc.
It is cheap, and most ferreterias and bricos have a roll of it, so you can buy what length you want, which is even cheaper than buying pre-packaged pieces. You can also buy it in the chinese shops and, in those near me, the quality is as good as from a ferreteria.

The sun and weather can cause damage to the pipe, and and the chemicals in LPG can cause unseen damage on the inside of the pipes.

I hadn't noticed two dates on it.
Appreciate it's not expensive to replace but just wanted a definitive answer for future reference.
