Metal Detecting
Hi forum
Does anybody know if there are any restrictions if you wanted to detect on the beeches or other public land?
I was just going to do get on with it but thought I might ask this most helpful place.

The page in the link below may help you, as it mentions Costa Blanca South. I found it by Googling "Is metal detecting legal in Spain?".

Licences are required in this area [ Valencia ] Murcia are a little lax at the moment but advised to have one as several of our southern members have been asked for them , mainly curiosity by local police and Guardia. Andulicia is a define no no , automatic confiscation of machine and usualy a large fine if caught.
Licences last for 6mths ,can take up to 2/3 mths to obtain , along with the licence are a long list of protected and banned beaches , go on them at your peril …!!!
The official line is that to own a metal detector in Spain you have to have an official import certificate [ from Madrid ] and have just cause for its use , archeolegist , research institute, or govenment body ..!!
Adapt in San Pedro is the only English local club and membership is limited .
