Hi everyone ,

We are moving permanently to la marina early next year and I am wondering how we will get over with the dogs , we were  going  to drive ahead of the van but after reading  about not bringing cars over I'm  wondering how to do this. Please don't  think we're  daft but we didn't  want the dogs in the hold in a plane their only tiny ! The other Helena is we've  never driven gone on  a ferry for days or driven through another country. We know there's a simple explanation but please someone tell us ladies how you relocate @ MANY THANKS  IN ADVANCE JILL.

After taking up permanent residence you may use your British registered vehicle for up to 6 months before reexporting or registering it in Spain.

Hi Jill. We moved over in February with our Springer and like yourself we didn't want to fly him over. We used Sharon at Trans-pet and would happily recommend her. She collected him from our home in the UK and delivered him to our door in Santa Pola at times we had arranged with her. Good luck with your move. Regards, Russ

Hi that sounds a GREAT alternative  do you mean the lady Sharon brought it on the ferry while you went on the plane ? I'd  just like to thank you for your time in replying to us, kind regards Jill and Sharon.

Yes we flew and she drove him over on the ferry. As we had arranged a lot of property viewings we were also able to pay a daily rate for her to kennel him for a few extra days before she delivered him to us. The cost was very reasonable and he appeared to enjoy the experience as he was as right as rain when she delivered him to us. Regards, Ru

From exhausting experiences I would definetely not recommend to have any Spanish surface transport company handling animals. No adequate care is given.

Hiya we drive over to La Marina every year we book a pet friendly cabin on Brittney Ferries and drive from Portsmouth to Bilbao then drive through Spain it’s good roads and we stop twice along the way.It costs £385 roughly to get over plus petrol.

Hope this is helpful
