Thank you for accepting me on your forum. We are seriously looking at buying in La Marina urb, although we have never actually been there. ( we have driven around the beaches etc but not to the urbanisation itself) . I would love some feedback - good and bad- from the residents about living daily life there ,there is only so much you can do looking at videos and google earth . We have an apartment on a murcia golf course but would like something more homely and less touristy . We had thought of Quesada but it just seem so vast and hilly ( I have an ageing mother who struggles to walk distances) . Thank you very much for any feedback
La Marina urb is anything but flat!
Each to their own of course but IMO it's a huge and souless urban sprawl and not somewhere I'd choose to live.

Hello
If residents answer you, you'll only get positivity ,anyone who owns a home there must like it, otherwise I'm sure they would have moved on. I have friends who have a holiday villa there & love it but its a bit of a concrete jungle to me & I couldnt live there

Hi Mandy,
Although we live in the campo, near San Fulgencio, my in-laws lived on La Marina urbanisation for more than 15 years and they loved it. It's a large urb with many different house styles, although nothing high rise. The newer properties are on the western side of the urb. It has 3 distinct commercial areas with supermarkets, bars and restaurants at each - they're known locally as the Grey area (our preferred option for eating out), the Big Ben area and the Consum area.
Because of the size of the urb, some areas have steep roads, but others are flat or just gentle slopes. At the bottom end of the urb, they are building the newer style, modern, white boxes, so there are property styles to appeal to all tastes.
There are most facilities available on the urb, with a health centre, pharmacy, post office, banks, police station, school, church, municipal pool, green bowls club and probably loads more that I don't know about. Your nearest hospitals (state and private) are in Torrevieja. While there's a mixture of nationalities on the urb, I would say it's predominantly British and many retirees.
From the urb, if you cross the N332 coast road, you'll be in La Marina village with access to some beautiful beaches.
I know Covid-19 is making travel very difficult, but you really need to visit it for yourself and see whether you like the feel of the place.
Kind regards,
Kim

Thank you so much for your honest sensible reply.
Almost certain to buy in La Marina
Hello, we asked almost exactly the same question over a year ago. It sparked off quite a discussion and the whole thread can be found at the link above from the Forum.
We are now very happily settled in La Escuera, a smaller and diverse urbanisation just spitting distance from La Marina Urb. I am very happy to let you know some of our experiences in getting here and for the most part it has all been good.
Best of luck!
