Hi Paul,

I had more of less the same response on when they would tell us the flights were going ahead or not. If you want to fly from Gatwick then your best option at the moment is probably Easyjet.

Aitch.

I know I'm being mean but do not want to pay for flights with someone else if BA are going to fly. If they are going to be cancelled then I'll book them now. Kevin

Think it’s the C gates where the problem tends to be. Previous posts indicate. We were C33.

You do realise that BA aircraft are mostly older than Ryanair's?

That's good John, I'm still waiting for a response from BA on why our passports were not stamped (left Oct 30th). There were no border control staff at the departure gate, as it was mid-morning so no obvious reason for them not being there.

Aitch.

We had a close call. On departing Santander. The border control man was so interested in chatting up a young lady, that he forgot to stamp wife's passport.  We stopped a few metres away to check. And my wife and had to run back in the rain and tell him. Initially he argued that he had. Looked a bit sheepish when he realised he had not. You really have to be careful these days

We did get our passports stamped when we left in June, not really sure why not in October.  Alicante airport was very busy as it was the weekend of UK half term so possibly a shortage of staff. I cannot remember which gate we left from, it was behind the eating area in the centre of the airp...

...ort.

Anyhow your message did prompt me to follow up (again) with BA. Hopefully I can get something back from them before we travel to Spain again in January.

Rgds,

We left in October too,  and no one to stamp out passports either. We returned to Spain again on 29th November and asked the boarder staff why it was stamped. He said it didn't matter as they didn't have any issues with British people! Not sure what he was implying!

He also said that passports are also scanned and to keep any evidence of leaving spain In October just In case anyone  in authority questioned us. don't think they understand we can only spend 3 months and the importance of passports being stamped on exit.

Will see what happens when we leave 17th December.

Keep safe everyone!

Probably less of an issue if travel is only back and forward between UK and Spain, could be more of a problem going to other EU countries, unless they now all have access to the Spanish data?

I came back to the UK from Alicante on Monday, came through B gates and very efficient process, after passport scanned UK nationals were shepherded to the immigration booths where our passports were stamped (next to the entry stamp we received 3 weeks before) and EU nationals waved through.

Hi, we also left in October flying to Bristol and departed from gate 33 and never had passports stamped, boarded a bus and taken to the plane out on the tarmac. We still have the boarding pass on our phones so hope this will be OK when we return in January.
