Are there any local companies that re-cover sofas? We have a very comfortable IKEA corner sofa that converts to a bed . It's structurally fine but the upholstery is now worn and stained. We'd buy a new one but IKEA no longer stock this model, so I'm thinking of getting it recovered. Any recommendations?

Whilst I don’t know anything about upholstery professionals in your area, in England it would probably prove uneconomic to pay for the reupholstery of IKEA furniture; by the time one takes into account the cost of the fabric and the labour. As a suggestion it is possible to buy very nice ‘throws’ from some of the Chinese shops, which can be wrapped ove r the sofa, and which can be removed and washed. We have done exactly this, to protect our furniture, which has proved its successful. It need not look ‘tacky’ - ours are white, with a jacquard weave and are perfectly acceptable. Around 20 or 30 euros dependent on size.

We’ve just had chairs recovered recently with Flamenco upholstery in Torrevieja. You’ll find the details on their Facebook page. They did an excellent professional job and I can thoroughly recommend them

Thanks. I'll give them a try.
