We have a 2 storey semi and like all the properties in Spain, it was cold during the winter months. Last year we had CEPSA install Gas Central Heating. Best thing we have ever done. The house is lovely and warm and when the solar water is not hot enough we can switch the Combi Boiler on to do that as well as the rads. Added bonus is it keeps the damp out of the walls too.The 100 litre tank is out in the garden and is their property so they maintain it. The Dolores office did ours.

If you have air con then set it to warm, temperature controlled and efficient. Just remember to shut the doors on individual rooms that are warming up. We also have panel heaters used overnight and in the morning (on the low rate electricity) which ensures it is lovely and warm when we wake up as I find air con annoying! The wall mounted heaters heaters can be plugged into an ordinary socket, no special wiring, but remember to put them on internal walls only - you don't want to be heating the neighbour's house or your garden. You can also use storage heaters but make sure you have dual tariff electricity to run them on the cheaper overnight rate (again, fix to internal walls).

Thank you. Do you put all the panel heaters on at night ( except exterior wall ones). Can your electricity cope with this as the other day I put 2 panel heaters on, a 2000w fore and the oven and it the elect. Went off.
Thanks again

The heaters are designed to be plugged into an ordinary socket and just stay on giving a steady output. We switch off ours most lunchtimes as have doors or windows open for a while so pointless having heating on as well.
You can get an electricity upgrade if your need one. Not sure what ours is now as we had it raised soon after buying the house.
The reason they are fixed on internal walls is the wall behind the heater absorbs some of the heat which stays in the house, if on an outside wall that heat will be drawn through to outside and wasted.
Because we are on a dual tariff with cheap rate overnight and morning electricity, they are not expensive to run, and can be purchased in the autumn and winter months at DIY shops. The basic type is under 100 euros per heater with no instalation costs.
It would be worth considering having a door made for the bottom of the stairs. Mine is extremely effective in preventing loss of heat up the stairs.
