I have been researching the problems of the poor Spanish house construction methods regarding no insulation/damp proofing etc,   in my searching I came across a very fast method of construction using a product called STYRO STONE, this method gives excellent thermal insulation for cold and heat.

My question is has any person in Spain that you know of who have used STYRO STONE in their construction for a new dwelling, I would be very interested in any information on this construction method

I've never seen the actual construction, but friends have a house built this way in the noughties. It's certainly good thermally, and I've not seen any evidence of rising damp.

From personal experience of doing jobs for them, it's an absolute swine if you want to fit a curtain pole or shelf etc on an external wall. That's because the plaster skim on the polystyrene is to thin to take a wall plug, so you have to chop a hole, cut out some polystyrene, and fill it with plaster.

Hi Jim, yes I was thinking about that sort of problem of exterior fixtures. I will make some enquiries through the suppliers.
